Terms of Service

1. About waSlot

waSlot is a booking platform that connects clients with independent service providers (barbers, braiders, nail technicians, and similar trades) across South Africa. By using waSlot — whether as a client or a provider — you agree to these terms.

2. Use of the Platform

You may use waSlot only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Make bookings you have no intention of honouring.
  • Impersonate another person or business.
  • Use the platform to spam or harass providers or clients.
  • Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or misuse any part of the service.

waSlot reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban any account found in violation of these terms.

3. Provider Responsibilities

Providers are independent businesses, not employees of waSlot. Providers are responsible for:

  • Keeping their availability, pricing, and service information accurate.
  • Delivering the service described at the agreed time and location.
  • Handling any disputes with clients professionally and in good faith.
  • Complying with all applicable South African laws and regulations.

waSlot is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of services offered by providers.

4. Deposit Policy

Some providers require a deposit at the time of booking to secure a slot. Deposits are set and managed by the individual provider. By paying a deposit, you confirm that you intend to attend the appointment.

Deposit refund eligibility is determined by the provider's own cancellation policy, which will be displayed before you confirm your booking. waSlot facilitates payment processing but is not responsible for refund disputes between clients and providers.

5. No-Show Policy

If you book an appointment and do not arrive without cancelling in advance, you may forfeit your deposit at the provider's discretion. Repeated no-shows may result in your account being flagged or restricted on the platform.

Providers who consistently fail to honour confirmed bookings may also have their accounts suspended.

6. Cancellations

To cancel a booking, please do so as early as possible — ideally at least 24 hours before your appointment. This allows the provider to offer the slot to another client. Cancellation windows and deposit refund rules are shown during the booking flow.

7. Limitation of Liability

waSlot provides the platform "as is." We make no guarantees regarding uptime, accuracy of provider listings, or outcomes of services booked through the platform. To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, waSlot's liability is limited to the amount paid in deposits processed through the platform in connection with the disputed booking.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of waSlot after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. Significant changes will be communicated via SMS or the platform.
